Asics Women’s Gel Quantum 180 2 Running Shoe – ASICS launched new shoes that replaced the company’s Gel pads for possible final extensions before a group of editors in Manhattan late Tuesday. The Quantum 360 gel, due to the hit store in July, was the first ASICS model to feature a midsole consisting entirely of company-owned Gel-bearing materials, a response to requests often heard from runners.
“People consistently tell us, ‘give us more Gel feelings’,” said Clara Kerley, a member of the footwear design team that began working on Quantum almost five years ago. “We thought we had said that with shoes that were outside the box for us – it was really a kind of our ‘concept car’ for running shoes.”

The full Midsole Gel varies in density from the lateral to the medial side of the heel, providing a level of stability that is enhanced by the company’s first full-length trusstic bridge. This is very different from that found in other ASICS shoes – on Quantum, the bridge runs around the soles to provide guidance throughout the gait cycle.
While Quantum, which will sell for $ 170, is targeted at runners with neutral footsteps looking for very soft shoes, Kerley said it would work for light pronators looking for soft models for some of their easier trips.
The size of 9 men weighs 11.9 ounces, and the size of 7 women enters 9.9. This shoe has a medium 10mm drop from the heel of 22mm to the forefoot 12mm. The initial release comes in four colors of men and four women, with a special graffiti-inspired pattern for the upcoming New York City Marathon in November.
